Our holiday-home choices have been designed to offer an option for everyone and to suit all budgets. Location
We are situated on the North Coast of Kenya in Watamu, approximately 5 kms from Watamu Village on a large 5 acre, beachfront property, along Turtle Bay Road. We are based in the heart of the Watamu National Marine Park.
Getting there
Make your way to Magical Kenya! We recommend catching a flight from Nairobi to Malindi and then a taxi directly to us in Watamu. This is the fastest route. Alternatively, you can opt for the train or fly to Mombasa and arrange a taxi to Watamu.

Bamba Kofi Snackbar
Our Snackbar, set under a huge makuti roof, is a chilled, outdoor eatery available to all our guests. Enjoy the open kitchen & bar, and select from our updated menu that offers generous, tasty meals. We recommend pre-ordering ahead of time if possible. We don't classify ourselves as a 'restaurant', but an open kitchen with a wonderful team of staff to welcome you for a bite to eat when you really don’t feel like cooking. We encourage our guests to spend their time catching up on any work or to simply relax with a drink.

Salt Water Swimming Pool
Spend a few hours at our sparkling, salt water swimming pool where you can cool off after a day at the beach, and laze around on a sun bed with a good book! Our pool is surrounded by lush shady trees and gardens, keeping it cool and private.
Viewpoints
There are four separate viewpoints which we have been built on the edge of the cliff at our beachfront. Relax under the makuti for a spot of shade and take in the spectacular panoramic views of the ocean. Guests love to spend the day here, enjoying the ever changing scene.
Rooftop Lounge
Who doesn't enjoy a beautiful view? There's a special space exclusive to our guests, found up hight at the top of our Clubhouse building. A perfect chill spot away from it all, to enjoy 360° views; catch the awesome sunsets or just be still and bask in the balmy sea breeze! Enjoy the privacy and the peacefulness this beautiful space offers.
Sea Breeze Massage
Take the opportunity to indulge in a Relaxing Massage with a picturesque ocean view. At the front of our property, we offer a serene and private viewpoint where you can unwind and enjoy a soothing massage. Our goal is to provide you with a tranquil experience, complete with the calming sounds of the ocean and refreshing sea breeze. Choose from our range of massage options and leave feeling recharged and refreshed.

For those wanting to explore around Watamu village and surrounds, we have a couple of E-bikes for hire.
For the more adventurous why not try scuba diving with TURTLE DIVE CENTER, offering lessons & equipment? We also have JC KITECHOOL where you can take up kite surfing lessons & enjoy the fun on the beach in front of our resort.
Gym
Make use of our small workout spot with some weights and few machines to help you stay active with your fitness routine whilst on holiday with us.
Camping
Get into nature and camp in one of our super comfy Tent Huts or Tents in our lush forest areas. Listen to the sounds of nature all around you with the distant crashing of waves onto the beach. We cater to Overlanders who need a camping space for their vehicles as well as those who would like to bring their own tents.

Transport Services
We can arrange a Taxi to transfer you to and from the airports - please organise this with us at the time. Tuk-Tuks and Boda-Bodas are readily available to get you around Watamu.
Your own Cook
A personal cook can be hired to prepare all your meals. Fresh fish, crabs & prawns are available daily from our local fishermen and all grocery items can be purchased from the local supermarkets and stores.
Kite Surfers Paradise
We are situated along one of the best beaches with perfect sea and wind conditions for Kite Surfing. Bring your own equipment or grab a lesson or two with JC Kiteschool @jc_kiteschool who operates from our property. It's a Kite Surfers paradise!
Safety & Security
We have two guards on duty patrolling day & night, with controlled access to the property. There is a 24hr response team from G4S with panic buttons for any unforeseen emergency. We have set up a fire safety station in the event of a fire.
Unlimited Wifi
If you need to do a spot of work whilst with us, WIFI with fast speed internet is freely available throughout our property for all our guests. In the unfortunate event of a power cut our Bamba Kofi Snackbar Clubhouse has a solar back up system to keep you connected. We do have generators to assist with power outages, which may occur, but are out of our control.
Excursions
There are so many fun & exciting outings or activities for everyone to enjoy. Excursions to explore the ocean and the surrounding areas can all be arranged with a recommended guide who you can chat to about your adventures. Turtle Dive Center @turtledivecenter is based on our property where you can learn to Scuba Dive.

A beautiful place to have a proper rest, in a quite setting and surrounded by nature, a good base to explore Watamu and beyond. The staff are lovely and attentive, the restaurant is very good and flexible, everyone is friendly, the people recommended by Ian were punctual and committed, the kite surfing school by the view point was great.
The cottage was super comfortable, clean and spacious - we wanted to move in.
What a gem. We would love to go back!!

Communicatie ging erg makkelijk, alles ging via de app en dan werden al onze wensen snel voldaan. Goede wasservice en massages. Mooie ligplekken met uitzicht op de zee buiten bereik van beach boys. Wees bewust dat in dit gebied stroomstoringen zijn. Het hotel doet alles binnen haar macht om hierop in te spelen. 1 nadeel: wij hadden afgesproken met de host, en de beveiliging en dit meerdere gecheckt dat wij ‘s nachts zouden vertrekken voor onze vlucht. Of de poort open was. Uiteindelijk bleek deze dicht te zijn en het personeel in geen velden of wegen te vinden. Hierdoor waren we een half uur vertraagd en erg gestrest vertrokken. Niet wat je wil om 4 uur snachts. Gelukkig heeft de beveiliging van het buurthotel ons geholpen

Assez excentré du cœur de Watamu, nous étions donc au calme, avec un accès direct à la plage. Très facile de se déplacer grâce aux tuktuk et moto stationnés devant.
Le restaurant est bon et le personnel très agréable.
Seul petit bémol : nous avons réservé pour 3 adultes via airbnb. En arrivant, on se rend compte que les chalets ne peuvent accueillir que 2 adultes… L’hôte a cependant trouvé une solution acceptable (tente à proximité).

The environment is very beautiful, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the host was very responsive. Overall, the place was not what we expected, due construction noise directly outside the Dhow Cottage. There are multiple cottages on the property, and guests are provided whichever one is available, as stated in the description. It was nice relaxing on the elevated beach view beds. The WiFi was unstable, and the water was off for about an hour due to a leaking pipe. The issues were resolved, and the Caretaker, Benjamin, made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The Snack Bar has delicious food with an amazing hospitable staff. I would highly recommend the Chickpea Curry, which comes with a side of stir fried veggies, and sliced Chapati. The Veg Samosas are also great! If we choose to stay again, hopefully, the construction is completed by that time.

Watamu Beach Cottages truly was an incredible experience from start to finish.
The beachfront view is breathtaking .. waking up to the sound of the ocean and having the beach right at your doorstep is pure magic. The property itself is surrounded by beautiful, lush nature that makes the whole place feel like a tranquil, hidden sanctuary.
The shared spaces are beautifully designed, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing, but what really sets this place apart is the team. The staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. Everything about this stay was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend Watamu Beach Cottages enough, and I already can't wait to go back!

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt dort und wir hatten uns gut erholt. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig, gut um zu relaxen und Spaziergänge zu machen. Die Anlage ist schön. Unsere Unterkunft war "optimist", sie ist dicht am Frühstückbereich, so dass man leider morgens laute Unterhaltungen mitbekommen hatte. Die Unterkunft hatte eine gemeinsame Küche "open Air Küche " was ok war. Es gab viele Bereiche zum Chillen was auch sehr cool war. Der GYM Bereich müsste erneuert´werden die Geräte waren funktionierten nicht oder waren verrostet. Nicht zu vergessen und Lobenswert war der freundliche Hausmeister Benjamin. Zu guter Letzt hatten wir eine angenehme Zeit

Es war ein toller Urlaub dort. Ich denke ich werde, wenn ich wieder in Watamu bin, werde ich wieder bei Ian buchen. Die Bling Cottage hat ein wirklich großes Zimmer mit einer tollen Architektur. Die Unterkunft machte einen ordentlichen sauberen Eindruck. Das einzige was bei der Bling Cottage m.E. zu bemängeln ist, ist die Terrasse, die könnte man erneuern. Benjamin der Hausmeister war auch sehr freundlich und war immer hilfsbereit, er tauschte auch die Plastikstühle gegen bessere aus. Ich denke die Fitnessgeräte könnte man auch erneuern. Trotzdem ist es eine schöne gepflegte Anlage mit vielen Möglichkeiten zum Chillen

I loved the location very much it's right by the beach. unfortunately the tent was dusty and run through. the toilet/shower is shared with other guests and the kitchen had like 3 old plates and is shared by everyone. For the price we paid this wasn't worth the money

Les 5 jours passés à Watamu dans le cottage "Topaze" étaient vraiment magnifique. Le logement est spacieux, beau et très bien situé. L'environnement est calme, le restaurant à proximité est peu cher et très bon. Nous avons passé des vacances parfaites et reposantes. La plage au pied du cottage est très calme et nous n'avons pas été embêté par les "beach boys" : IL n'y avait presque personne à part nous ! Nous recommandons !

Beautiful location with sea views and a sea breeze from the master bedroom/ living room side. A few minutes walk across a sand dune and you are on the beach! Great restaurant/cafe on site - order in good time as it can be a bit of a wait but quality and range of food options is very good. Diving school kite surfing school both on site. A small salt water pool with sun loungers makes a lovely spot to sunbathe and relax.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt im Paradies. Die Anlage ist weitläufig und sehr schön, ob Pool, Strand, Tischtennis oder einfach nur auf der Hängematte den Tag genießen. Auch das Restaurant mit Frühstück und Essen war sehr lecker. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

How far are the local shops?
Watamu Village is 5kms down Turtle Bay Road where you will find all shops, pharmacies, banks, and local stalls. Blue Marmelade, now based at Blue Moon Mall is a well-stocked supermarket which we recommend as a one-stop shop for all your grocery needs. Should you prefer more local prices, you can opt to buy fresh produce at the stalls on the side of the road.
What is Self-Catering?
Self-Catering requires you to supply all the supplies which you will consume or use during your stay. This would include your toiletries, your food and drink and all sanitary supplies, etc.
Self-catering accommodation is described as self-contained holiday accommodation which has facilities for the guests to prepare their own meals.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, we welcome guests with pets but please be aware to keep your pet on a leash and supervised at all times. The safety of your animal is solely the owners responsibility.
What happens in an emergency?
We have a complete First Aid Kit available to guests if required. A Doctor is on call for any medical emergencies. There is a 24-hour response team with G4S panic buttons located in most units. The response team will assist with ambulances, police, or the fire brigade.
We have 2 guards on duty at all times, manning the front entrance gate and patrolling the beachfront of our property. We also have a fire safety station set up in case of a fire. The safety of our guests is important to us!
